whew! as i've said in my last post i'll try to revive again my blog! at ito na yun! may prepaid na ako and at last nakahanap na ako ng time! haha! well, it has been an up and down for the 1st 2 months of our 1st semester. as far as i can remember, out of the 8 subjects we have this sem, medyo tagilid na ako dun sa tatlo (psych, spanish at pinoy) lalo na sa pinoy... good thing medyo nakabawi naman ako ng kaunti dun sa remaining five (lit, tv prod, scriptwriting, adver, comm-socio) na karamihan ay major ko. kaya naman todo bawi na talaga ako bago mag-prelim exams para maka-buelo na din pagdating ng finals. another thing that i'm pre-occupied with is yung trabaho ko as a society officer. syempre medyo malaki yung population ng society namin so talagang kailangan tutukan mo yung needs nila. to be honest, it's hard pero masaya kasi you get to meet new people and help them at the same time. anyways, that's my short update on how am i doing at the moment as a junior CA student. at simula pa lang ito! more to come pa! kaya good luck talaga sa akin! haha! ciao!

my last post was a month ago... whew... iba na talaga kapag third year... dami ginagawa... idagdag mo pa ang trabaho ko bilang treasurer ng CASA na isa sa pinakamalaking major sa UST... saan ko pa kaya isisingit ang pagpopost ko?... tapos wala pa kaming internet sa bahay (tinatamad kasi akong bumili ng prepaid..hehe..) kaya ayon! nagmukhang stagnant tuloy ang blog ko... pero don't worry by this week bubuhayin ko na ulit ang blog ko.. magpopost na ako... hehe... aryt?! cge.. continue dropping by! ciao!

lahat naman tayo ay aware sa network war ng abs-cbn 2 at gma 7. pero minsan hindi natin malaman kung sino ang talagang magaling at hindi gaya-gaya na network kasi kapag may bagong show ang isa tatapatan ito ng kabila. kapag may changes sa timeslot magpapalit din ang isa. well, i understand na these 2 are the largest networks here in our country and both of them aims to be the #1 station. eh sino ba talaga ang #1 sa kanilang dalawa? para sa akin, walang #1 kasi pareho lang silang dalawa. both channels have good shows and good talents. sana lang wag dinadaan sa paninira ang competition at saka sana kahit papaano maging grateful ang isang talent dun sa pinaggalingan niya if ever bumaliktad siya ng channel. hindi yung basta na lang nakalipat tapos sisiraan yung pinanggalingan. ikaw, saan ka kabilang? kapamilya or kapuso?

when my friend tin bought her honda civic vti-s a few years ago it was just a simple light brown/gold car cruising the streets of the metropolis. it has no sound set-up, no low profile tires, no dazzling magwheels and no murals at all... something like this:

but after a few years from the time she bought it, the car passed through different stages to be refurbished and become one of the most fascinating cars i ever saw in our country... here's a preview of it:

well, wondering why the car is displayed on a show? actually, the car was an entry at the 2004 trans sport show at the sm megamall megatrade hall. many car enthusiasts were impressed with the car and so were the judges of the said show...

...the car eventually bagged the show's 4 major awards: "Best of Show", "Best Mural", "Best Car Display" and "Best Asian Millennium Medium Modified II."

so do i make sense if i say that this pink honda civic vti-s is one of the most fascinating cars in our country? well, it's just not your ordinary honda civic isn't? if you want see the car in person it is currently parked at my friends house here in filinvest 1.

as you can see my last post was a month ago... the main reason is because i don't have an internet account.. well, by this week i will already be posting my great month of may for the year 2005. ciao!

NBA playoffs!

according to many, the nba playoffs is the real season of the nba. this is where the men are separated from the boys. easy baskets are out hard fouls are in! determination and a big heart is needed to capture the larry o'brien trophy or commonly called the nba championship and this year 16 teams again are vying to get that trophy. the defending champions detroit pistons is out to defend their title. the san antonio spurs, dallas mavericks, boston celtics and indiana pacers, teams which have entered the playoffs for the last two years are still there to once again have a shot of the championship while newbies like chicago bulls, washington wizards and phoenix suns (who has the nba's best record) will have their hands full to contain the old-timers and be successful on their quest for the ultimate goal which is the nba championship. so...let's get it started and watch how each team fight for their lives because its either they win or go home!

yes! 0-3! that's my team's record in our village league. we had our 3rd game last saturday against red. the good thing about it is that my team is almost complete but the bad thing about it is that we lost by 9 points after leading the game from 1st quarter to 3rd quarter. our team became complacent and lost it's composure in the 4th quarter. our next game will be against black team on may 1st, sunday at 4pm, this will also be the start of the 2nd round. after our game, i went to leira's debut @ hotel rembrandt in tomas morato. after the debut, i went to city jam to watch the band Spiel for the 2nd straight saturday w/ cha, john, robby, kat, amet, tammy and kuya pok. and during the open jam i was given a chance to jam w/ the band Spiel w/ popo of moonstar 88 on drums. went home @ about 3 am.

i was w/ vea, grace, amz and kyle last friday night. our first stop was to go at an open party in wynsium bldg in ortigas center sponsored by i.ph (try checking out their site www.i.ph). from there we went to starbucks tomas morato to chill and have some choco frap while listening to bands like freestyle and akafellas as they perform for the earth day concert held in the streets of tomas morato. after chillin out at starbucks, we went to vea's place to chat and chill once more. i left vea's place @ about 1 am and then followed my kada who were also chillin at john's place in BF homes, qc.

trans sport show!

it has been a tradition for me and my dad to attend the trans sport show every year in sm megamall since it's first year and as far as i can remember we just missed one trans sport show wheteher i am w/ my dad or with my friends. we just enjoy looking at the different cars that are displayed in the show while my dad also checks out the things being sold in the event. for this year we attended the 1st day of the said show. well of course there were awesome cars displayed on the event. cars like the 1977 toyota celica, 1973 and 1974 toyota corolla sprinter, 1997 honda civic 2-door sedan and the 2000 honda civic ek9 (type-r) were the ones who caught my attention. there were many other cars which stand-out but i just can't mention them all. for sure i will be back again next year for the 2006 trans sport show.

we have a new pope!

it was 6pm in vatican city (wednesday midnight in manila) when a white smoke appeared in the chimney atop the sistine Chapel. the smoke tells us that we already have a new pope. indeed yes! a new pope is elected in the person of cardinal joseph ratzinger of germany. cardinal ratzinger, the 265th pontiff in the church's 2000-year history chose pope benedict xvi as his name. pope benedict xvi, became the first german pope in centuries and will turn 78 years old on saturday. he was pope john paul ii's closest advisers and became the dean of the college of cardinals in 2002. he was the one who celebrated the mass during pope john paul ii's funeral. pope benedict xvi was said to be a conservative pope according to reports and in 1986 he issued a firm vatican denunciation of homosexuality and gay marriage. well, these are some of the facts about our new pope. as for me, i think pope benedict xvi will rise to the challenge left by pope john paul ii. although he's quite old, he can still make the most out of it. let's just support him by praying for him and being good catholics as well.

yesterday, we watched the filinvest 1 juniors inter-village game against vista real. vista real is known to be one of the nemesis of our village because most of our games the past few years against this team ended w/ very close scores. good thing filinvest 1 prevailed yesterday, winning by 4 points in a dramatic fashion. the win avenged our lost to them last year when i was still playing. in the evening, we had an inuman session @ kuya jv's house (kuya jv is the team's trainer). actually, the inuman was a bet between kuya jv and the players that if the team would win he will treat the players but if they lost there's no inuman. unfortunately, the team is determined to win and most of all determined to drink kaya naman ipinanalo talaga nila yung game para sa inuman. got home at about 1:30 am.

April 17 - coaching job!

in the noontime we went to las piñas for tita malou's birthday celebration. grabe, ngayon ko lang napanood yung movie na feng shui habang kumakain ng lunch. in the afternoon, i coached the grey team in the mosquitoes division (14 and below) of our village league. the team won the game by 20 points and it was their 2nd straight win against no lost (oh diba mas malupit pa sa team na nilalaruan ko..hehe!) syempre being their head coach, i want to help these kids to win, to develop more their talents and most of all enjoy playing the game. and if this team would win the championship, i would be so happy because being the head coach makes me already a part of the team.

April 16 - blow-out lost!

if in our first game we only had 7 players dressed to play, for our game today against the black team we only had 5 players that can play. why? well, most of my teammates in our village league are out of town, out of way and out of order that is why they weren't able to play and my team eventualy lost by a whopping 28 points 48-76 to our foe. well, there is still a game left in the 1st round and i am expecting the players who did not play today and in our 1st game to play in our next game against red team. our next game is scheduled on the 23rd of april, 5pm. after watching the games in our village league, i went to city jam, katipunan w/cha, john, jc, sam and martin to watch the band Spiel. the band was good, but what made the night more exciting is when Miro, the vocalist of the band Stonefree jammed w/ Spiel. we were so amazed with Miro's voice and the way he sings especially when he sang "Listen" and "Kapag nawala ka" 2 of the famous songs of his band. well, you can catch Spiel every Saturday night @ City Jam, Katipunan and Stonefree every other Sunday night @ Tapika, Katipunan.

April 15 - from player to assistant coach! & drunk?! not!

watched juniors' inter-village game against embassy terraces. well, for this year i will be just a spectator for the juniors team because 4 of us were removed from the team because of over-age. that is why by next year i will already be playing for the seniors team of our village. being removed from the team is sad because i thought this will be my last year to play and i still haven't experience a championship. but life is just like that, sometimes you just can't have it all. but i will still support and help the team as i was appointed to be the team's assistant coach. in the evening our kada had an inuman session @ dam-dam's place. we drank 7 bottles of gin-pineapple that made me a little bit tipsy and i still know what i am doing pero medyo maingay na ako ng kaunti. hehe. went home at about 3 am.

April 13 - Congratulations UST-AB Graduates!

for the second time around i had a privilege to usher for the UST-AB graduation ceremonies @ the picc plenary hall. i also ushered last year and it was a quite a good experience. well, there were some changes this year but there is one thing that did not change and that is the allowance that is given to the ushers. last year we were paid 300 bucks and this year we were paid the same amount also. after the grad ceremonies, i had dinner w/ chan-chan, sofie and arden @ blue wave, roxas blvd. from there i did not went home immediately but instead went to amet's place to have inuman w/ john, martin and sam. we went home at about 3 am in the morning.

April 12 - hang-out w/ niq and hannah

in the morning, i went to UST to welcome incoming CA freshmen w/ other officers. from UST, i fetched niq at her former school and then went to their house to eat lunch, halo-halo and chill out. hannah also went their and then we had a lot of fun chatting and taking pictures! awww...i just miss these gals!

April 10 - 1st game... 1st lost...

my team in our village league had its first game yesterday. we only have 7 players in uniform but still the game turned out well in the first two quarters because we were able to keep the scores close. but in the 3rd quarter, one of our players sprained his ankle and the 7 players was cut down to 6 and the lead of our opponent increased a little. in the 4th quarter another player sprained also his ankle so there were only 5 players left who can play and the lead of the ohter team increased again. 5 minutes left in the 4th quarter one of my teammates fouled out of the game and we have no choice but to force 1 of my teammates who sprained his ankle to play for the remainder of the game. we were able to make a run to cut down the lead to a smaller margin but the time wasn't in our hands and eventually we lost the game by 9 points, 47-38. well, the lost wasn't that bad because it was only our first game and we still have the 2 more games in the 1st round and 3 more games in the 2nd round to make up for our 1st game lost. but most of the times winning the first game boosts the morale of the team and we must consider a win is always a win.

just a while ago our village league started...we joined the motorcade and then watched the 3 opening games for mosquitoes, juniors and seniors division. actually, i just got home at about 3pm this afternoon from amet's (my kabarkada) birthday party last night. we had a lot of fun, of course there are also a lot of food and drinks...yes drinks as in alcoholic drinks...hehe! i was able to clean (sweep and mop) our sala and kitchen yetserday morning.

*thursday (april 7) - we had an inter-village game against this new subdivision (hobart homes?) who recently joined aqchai inter-vill tournament for the 1st time. we won the game unfortunately by default because they didn't arrive in the venue. on the morning of that day, we went to St. Jude Church in Malacañang to attend a novena mass because it was the 1st thursday of the month.

*wednesday (april 6) - in the morning we (CASA executive board) welcomed the incoming CA freshmen for the academic year 2005-2006 during their confirmation of enrollment. we were so glad to see that many are still interested in taking up communication arts in UST. in the afternoon, we had our first game in aqchai inter-vill tournament against new intramuros village. we won the game by 3 points 44-47.

*tuesday (april 5) - had my final interview in convergys in the morning. the interview turned out well but unfortunately i wasn't accepeted because there were no available slots for part timers. i felt a little sad but it became a learning experience for me on how to apply for a job. i'll just try agin looking for another job. in the afternoon, i went to sm megamall w/ my mom, my cousins, my lil' sis and my aunt. in the evening, i attended our basketball training.

monday (april 4) - it was nina's (my youngest sister) birthday today! in the morning, i had my simulation and written test @ convergys. i was able to pass the tests that is why i was asked to come back the next day for my final interview. in the evening, i attended our basketball training. i also got my grades from UST Online. click here to view my grades. my grades are good but my average was lower than what i had during the 1st sem.

sunday (april 3) - hmmm...nothing much for today. our choir just sang for the 10 am mass in our chapel.

saturday (april 2) - today was our clearance day and i'm proud to say that i passed all my subjects for the 2nd sem of academic year 2004-2005. at last, i can now have my summer vacation without any doubts if i would pass or fail my subjects. on the afternoon, our team attended the opening of aqchai inter-village tournament @ tivoli royale country club. and on the evening, i went to sm megamall w/ my cousins and aunt. i bought a new rubber shoes (Accel Trinity) because my old one was already worn out.

this is how i spent my 1st week of april... hindi naman masyado hectic noh?!?

just this morning when i woke up a sad story shocked me as i read the news paper and watched the television. "The Pope is gravely ill." The condition of the Pope has worsened because his breathing has become shallow, his blood pressure and kidney are already deteriorating and he already suffered cardio-circulatory collapse. actually the Pope received the last sacrament (anointing of the sick) last thursday. and it is said that Pope is already near death because of so many complications in his health. our Pope has left a legacy in the Catholic Church for almost a quarter of a century and he is the most traveled Pope as he was able to visit more than a 100 countries including the Philippines. As of now, catholics are surrounding the St. Peter's Square in Vatican to pray for the health of our Pope. well, for us catholics here in the Philippines all we can do is to take a few minutes of our busy schedule to pray for condition of our Pope, Pope John Paul II.

summer improvements?!?

actually, for the past few years my summer hasn't change a lot. basketball, chill, inuman at kakaunting outing ang buhay ko pag summer... that is why this summer, i plan to make a little improvements w/ my activities. una sa lahat...gusto ko na mag-champion ang team ko sa inter-village or sa liga dito sa village namin....kung susuwertehin pwede din parehong mag-champion yung dalawang team...mas ok yun! second is to earn money this summer by having a summer job. kaya naman these past few days i have inquired and passed my resume to different call centers. last is to have more vacations (kung makakuha ng trabaho kahit wag na...hehe...) most esp. sa good beaches like puerto galera (palibhasa i haven't gone there yet)...well, medyo madami pa ako dapat iimprove sa summer ko...i'll just add up some on my next post kasi aalis na ko dahil may training ako...that's all for now muna... ciao!

the week after that, i tried-out for our inter-village basketball team. for the 4th time i was able to make it again for the juniors team. actually it will be my last year on that division so i want to make the most out of it. and then during the holy week (from Holy Thursday to Black Saturday) i attended a retreat @ laguna hills study center (a center handled by Opus Dei). this retreat was different from the ones we have in our school because its a close retreat and it was attended by students from different universities. the retreat was good because it was very solemn, i got to learn and realize a lot of things and made my faith stronger. that is why i am planning to attend again the retreat next year because it's worth joining esp. during holy week. want to attend also next year? (pwede din girls)...just tell me!

summer na?!?

these are the events that started my summer vacation... first is right immediately after our finals when our class (2ca1) had a major inuman in the place beside d'fort in antonio st. t'was the first time that the 2 groups of our section were together in one event. we had a great time! so many stories and confessions revealed at yung mga taong hindi talaga umiinom ay napainom bigla... the day after, most of us who were at the first event went to providence towers @ leon guinto, manila para mag-videoke. syempre inuman ulit yun kaya naman kahit wala na sa tono ay kanta pa rin ng kanta... that didn't end our day... from providence, we went to ccp complex to eat dinner and go biking... grabe, sobrang saya namin kaya naman inabot na kami ng 10 pm dun... that 2 consecutive days was a great! we had a time for bonding, singing and most of all drinking. i am now looking forward to another 2ca1 (soon to be 3ca1) gimik! kung saan man yun mapa-EK or tagaytay basta magkakasama kami for sure masaya!

well, as you can see my blog is getting better w/ the addition of a chatterbox, comment, trackback, YM icon, friendster icon and a photo album. wow! this one is much better than the 1st and so much better than the 2nd...hehe. but this changes and improvements wont be possible without the help of my good friend VEA. whew! after 2 months, i've already fixed again my blog... gosh, this will be my 3rd time and i hope it i won't experience again any problems... so just keep on dropppin by my blogsite for more updates! that's all for now...ciao!
